Our students have once again impressed the audience!

Our students have once again impressed the audience!

A full house, musical mastery, the soothing voice of Mietek Szcześniak, and all crowned with a long standing ovation - that, in a nutshell, was the album premiere concert of the Big Band of the Jazz Department of our University.

On Wednesday, 24 May, at the Nysa House of Culture, our lecturers and students presented the music they had been working on for many months. The guests were welcomed by the Dean of the Jazz Faculty, Roman Hudaszek. From the first notes it was clear that we were dealing with something special.

The 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝘂𝗺 "𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴" performed by the students, graduates and lecturers of the Jazz Faculty of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa under the direction of Piotr Schmidt, featured the greatest hits of American swing music popularised by artists such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble, as well as such big bands as the Count Basie Orchestra and the Quincy Jones Orchestra. On Wednesday, we were able to listen to them live.

That evening, special guest Mietek Szcześniak, an artist as talented as he is humble, also appeared on stage. Again, with his soothing voice, he took the audience on a sentimental musical journey. The delighted audience in the Nysa Cultural Centre rewarded the artists with a long and lively standing ovation. At the end of the event, the Rector of our Academy, Prof. Przemysław Malinowski, thanked the lecturers and students of the Jazz Department for another musical project that was so enthusiastically received and about which there is a lot of publicity, not only in our city.

It is worth adding that a limited number of copies of the album will be available for sale in so-called good music shops, while from 24 May the album will also be available to listen to on popular streaming services.
