International Cooperation Office

It was a great pleasure for us to host Héctor Eliseo García Velasco from CETYS Ensenada, Mexico, who spent three months on an internship at the International Cooperation Office (ICO) at UAS in Nysa. Héctor made a significant contribution to the implementation of many international initiatives, further developing his skills in intercultural communication, event organization, and more.

The main tasks co-organized by Héctor included:

• International Summer Programme (ISP):
  Héctor played a key role in creating promotional materials for the ISP and in organizing and coordinating events for international students. His responsibilities included organizing recreational activities, such as paintball games, which greatly supported intercultural exchange.
• Cultural Mediation:
  As a cultural mediator, Héctor acted as a liaison between Erasmus+ students and Polish students, as well as participants in international programs. He ensured effective communication and created a friendly, open atmosphere for all.
• International Staff Training Week:
  During the International Staff Training Week, Héctor supported the event's organization and logistics, while also documenting it through photography and video, which had a major impact on the promotion of the event.
• Erasmus+ Student Activities:
  Héctor assisted in organizing team-building and integration events for Erasmus+ students, such as paintball matches and bowling tournaments, which encouraged international bonding and integration.
• Communication Support for the Office:
  In addition to his organizational duties, Héctor played an important role in office operations by assisting with responding to emails, coordinating international projects, and supporting the daily activities of the office.

During his internship, Héctor gained a lot of experiences and developed a range of skills, including:

• Intercultural communication
• Event organization
• Graphic design and material production
• Office communication management
• Team collaboration in an international environment

"My internship in Nysa was an unforgettable journey—full of learning, teamwork, and cultural exchange- says Héctor- more than gaining professional experience, I learned how much care and effort goes into building international cooperation, and I felt truly happy to contribute, even in a small way, to the amazing work you do every day. Thank you for your trust, for your support, and for making me feel like part of the team from day one. I will carry these memories and lessons for the rest of my life. I am truly grateful for everything."

We wholeheartedly thank Héctor for his dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm. His contribution greatly enriched our team, and his efforts have enhanced the international character of our university. We wish him much success in his professional journey and hope to meet again in the future!
