Report from the BIP Programme “International Business English Skills for Tomorrow” Kaunas, Lithuania 2025
Between 15 and 19 December 2025, second- and third-year students of English Philology (translation specialisation) at the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa participated in a short-term blended Erasmus+ mobility under the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) entitled “International Business English Skills for Tomorrow”. The programme was hosted by Kauno Kolegija (Kaunas University of Applied Sciences) in Kaunas, Lithuania.
The University of Applied Sciences in Nysa was represented by eight students: Martyna Wierna, Olesia Vyschnevska, Piotr Witczak, Krzysztof Wojciechowski, Adrianna Kuszła, Malwina Rzucidło, Nela Gratulewicz and Aleksandra Gabel.
During the programme, students explored the theme of Christmas from an international perspective, with particular emphasis on marketing strategies and commercialisation. As part of the practical component, participants visited two shopping centres, where local business owners delivered short presentations on their enterprises and marketing approaches. The programme also included numerous group tasks and a debate, which contributed to the development of teamwork and communication skills. The mobility concluded with group presentations focusing on Christmas and marketing in an international context.
All classes were conducted in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The organisers provided lunches, refreshments and practical welcome gifts, including notebooks, pens, thermoses, traditional Lithuanian sweets and linen bags.
In addition to academic activities, students took part in cultural events that enabled them to become familiar with Lithuanian traditions and heritage. These included a tasting of traditional Lithuanian dishes and a study trip to Vilnius, where participants visited the Money Museum and the Vilnius Christmas Market. In their free time, students explored Kaunas and enjoyed winter attractions recommended by local students, such as the ice rink and local restaurants. They also benefited from a mobile application facilitating the use of public transport.
The participants returned to Poland enriched with new experiences, international friendships and enhanced knowledge in the areas of communication, marketing and Business English. They highly recommend participation in Blended Intensive Programmes and other Erasmus+ mobility opportunities offered by the University.
