Mittweida Academia-Industry Experience in the European Union (AIEEU)

IEEF project with FH Mittweida, 27-29 May 2024 Academia-Industry Experience in the European Union (AIEEU) a short visit Academia -Cum-Industrial Experience in the EU Poland

On 27-29. May 2024, the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa hosted a group of 21 students from the German partner university FH Mittweida together with lecturers: Prof. Dr. Serge Velesco and Prof. Dr. Thoralf Gebel.

Our partners participated in the Program implemented by IEEF at University of Applied Sciences in Nysa: Academia-Industry Experience in the European Union (AIEEU) - a short visit Academia -Cum-Industrial Experience in EU Poland. The guests were welcomed by Dean of the Faculty of Neophilology Prof. Alina Dittmann, as well as a lecturer in the English Philology Department - Dr. Pradeep Kumar, who coordinated the project on behalf of IEEF.

The subjects of the lectures and workshops, which were also attended by students majoring in English Philology, included : 

  • “Intercultural Competences”, Dr. Pradeep Kumar
  • “Innovation by adaptation of successful business models”, Dr. Thoralf Gebel
  • “Managing people and businesses across borders”, Dr. Serge Velesco.

The program also included a study visit to Schattdecor Company, where participants learned about the strategy of the company operating in markets around the world, and its production line at the Glucholazy plant.

During their stay at the Nysa Alma Mater, the students became acquainted with the University's offer and teaching facilities presented by the Head of the Department of External Relations Ms. Anna Opalka, MSc. and took part in lectures together with Polish students of English Philology and students of the Erasmus+ Program.

After the joint workshops, the participants had a guided tour of Nysa by tourist train, as well as an integration meeting with UAS students in Nysa at the Nysa Fort awaited them. The program was a great opportunity to learn about different cultures and their approaches to management and innovation, as well as to make friendships and business contacts that may prove useful in the students' future careers. FH Mittweida is one of the most active partners of the UAS in Nysa, with which the university conducts exchanges of students and employees and carries out joint projects.
