Partnership agreement signed with Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) in Brazil
The Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa, Dr Eng. Przemysław Malinowski, signed a partnership agreement with the Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) in Brazil, represented by the Rector of the UFTM, Prof. Dr Marinalva Vieira Barbosa.
The agreement aims to develop academic and scientific cooperation in the fields of higher education, research and development. The strategic objectives of the signed agreement will be implemented, among others, by: student exchange programmes, double degrees, faculty exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, seminars, etc., while promoting the academic, research and cultural development of the partner institutions.
Initially, the cooperation will concern medical and health faculties, where an international event entitled: 'Tropical Diseases, Metabolic Diseases, Technology, Innovation and Career Development Workshop' is planned to be held on 14-15.10.2024, aimed at the entire academic community (including both lecturers and students).
The collaboration will be coordinated on behalf of UAS in Nysa by Prof Zbigniew Ciemniewski, and on the Brazilian side by Jana Maria Pellizzetti Szymaniak, deputy head of the Laboratório Interdisciplinar de Pesquisa (LIP-CNPq-UFTM).
The signing of the agreement was preceded by an on-line meeting, during which the scope and terms of cooperation were decided. Members of the UFTM Assessoria de Cooperação Internacional (ACI) attended the meeting: Coordinator Vitor Tomaz Guimarães Naves, Secretaiat Cristina Beatriz Mio Fontes Prof. Dr. Nazaré Pellizzetti Szymaniak, prof. Associate at Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM), Doctor of Science (UFTM), Coordinator of the Discipline of Surgical Nursing (DEAH-CGE-ICS-UFTM), Jana Maria Pellizzetti Szymaniak Deputy Head of the Laboratório Interdisciplinar de Pesquisa (LIP-CNPq-UFTM) Jaroslaw Szymaniak and Dr. Zbigniew Ciemniewski , UAS in Nysa Professor, Anna Opałka, MSc. Head of the External Relations Department and ICO.
During the meeting, the Head of the External Relations Department presented UAS in Nysa's educational offer and potential areas of cooperation, as well as invited UFTM students and staff to participate in international events organised at our University, including the International Staff Training Week and the International Summer Programme 2024.
