Erasmus+ Program partner visit (KA-171) to Instituto Technologico de Santo Domingo

On 17-21.06.2024r. International Staff Training Week took place at the partner university Technologico de Santo Domingo. UAS in Nysa was represented by Ms. Anna Opalka- Head of External Relations Department. The mobility was realized under the Erasmus+ KA-171 Programme Teching Mobility. During the training week, UAS in Nysa representative gave a lecture to the participants entitled "Internationalization of the university as a leverage of its institutional development". She also presented the UAS in Nysa in Nysa potential and offer to the staff and students of INTEC, participated in a mobility fair and meetings with representatives of the International Cooperation Office. As this was the first mobility to this university, procedures related to the implementation of the Erasmus+ Program were discussed, mutual expectations regarding the main areas of cooperation and plans for the next academic year, including staff and student mobility.

The main objectives of the Program were:

  • Presentation of the higher education system
  • Familiarizing participants with the history and culture of the Dominican Republic
  • Discussion of the role of higher education in relation to the main priorities of Higher Education
  • Exchange of good practices among participants , including faculty, staff and students

During the event, all participants attended a number of interesting presentations, including the following among others:

  1. CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE ACCESS INCLUSION PROJECT TO DOMINICAN UNIVERSITIES
  2. WHERE DO DOMINICAN ORIGINATE FROM?
  3. IMPACT OF INNOVATION AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ON HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
  4. FACULTY OF ENGINEERING: ACTIONS AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIAL STRENGTHENING IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
  5. BUILDING AND LEADING AN ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM AT INTEC -DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
  6. HOW TO TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE: THE ROLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION
  7. INTERNATIONALISATION AS THE LEVERAGE OF INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In addition, the hosts introduced their guests to the University's teaching facilities and gave them the opportunity to encounter Dominican culture during a short Spanish language course with a local specific, visit to the Santo Domingo Botanical Garden and East National Park, and an artistic program performed by INTEC students.
Representatives from other Polish, Romanian and Lithuanian universities also participated in the International Staff Training weeek, which provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and establish cooperation with other educational institutions in Europe
