FULBRIGHTER IN NYSA!

On May 17-18 2023 University of Applied Sciences in Nysa hosted a Fulbright program scholar, Ms Faith VanVleet. As part of the cooperation between the Polish-American Fulbright Commission and educational institutions in Poland, Ms. VanVleet gave a lecture at the Faculty of Modern Languages on selected accents in the American language that can be heard in different regions of the United States. Students attending the lecture practiced the accent of the Midwest region, the American South, Southern California, and one of the accents of New York.

Faith VanVleet is a graduate of Baylor University in Texas, where she majored in Slavonic and Eastern European Studies. While on scholarship during the current academic year in Poland, Ms. VanVleet teaches English at the Angelus Silesius Academy of Applied Sciences in Walbrzych where she also runs the English Club.

University of Applied Sciences in Nysa would like to thank Ms. Faith VanVleet and the Polish-American Fulbright Commission for the opportunity to host the lecture.
