Inauguration of the second edition of the UMICORE educational project "Batteries recharge our everyday life"
On 07.02.2024r. the inauguration of the second edition of the Umicore educational package project "Batteries recharge our everyday life" took place. The initiator of the project and the funder of educational materials, as in the previous edition, is the Umicore, and the substantive partner is the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa. The ceremonial inauguration of the program, during which educational packages were handed out, took place on February 7, 2024 at the Nysa branch of the Umicore. The event was attended by principals of participating schools, representatives of the Municipal Board of Education and the Umicore.
The University of Applied Sciences in Nysa was represented by the Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development - Dr. Piotr Chwastyk, and the head of the External Relations Department - Anna Opalka, MA. The educational initiative "Batteries recharge our everyday life" aligns with Umicore's objectives promoting awareness of electromobility, green energy, and respect for the environment, which is also in line with the University's mission and strategic goals. Classes are scheduled to begin in February and will continue until June 2024.The current edition of the project will involve Primary School No. 1 in Nysa, Primary School No. 10 in Nysa, as well as the School and Kindergarten Complex in Goświnowice with 114 students participating in the activities. Overall, the program will cover 10-12 lesson hours and will be implemented according to a lesson plan developed by a multidisciplinary team of professors and experts.
