16th International Staff Training Week (ISTW), Theme: Change Manageme6nt at the Universities, Date: 18–22 May 2026

Event Overview

Universities today face dynamic internal and external pressures that require them to adapt quickly and effectively. Globalization, digital transformation, demographic shifts, and changing expectations from students, staff, and society demand that higher education institutions continuously evolve. Change management, therefore, becomes a crucial strategic competency for universities that aim to remain resilient, competitive, and socially responsible.

The theme “Change Management at the Universities” will explore how institutions can successfully implement organizational and programme change while maintaining academic quality, institutional identity, and stakeholder trust. The focus will be on frameworks, tools, and best practices that enable universities to manage transitions in teaching, research, administration, and international collaboration. During the programme attention will also be given to how universities can respond to contemporary societal needs by adjusting their teaching practices and establishing prospective, future-oriented programmes. These changes are essential not only to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving global landscape but also to fulfill the broader mission of higher education in contributing to social progress.

This edition of the International Staff Training Week will provide participants with a platform to exchange experiences and co-develop strategies for navigating change in higher education. By exchanging best practices and engaging in collaborative dialogue, participants will gain insights into effective change management strategies that strengthen both local and international academic communities.
