The 15th edition of the International Staff Training Week at UAS in Nysa
From May 19 to 23, 2025, the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa hosted the jubilee 15th edition of the International Staff Training Week, organized by the International Cooperation Office. This year’s event was held under the theme “Sustainable University: Balancing Innovation and Responsibility in Higher Education”, focusing on the role of universities in combining innovation with social responsibility and environmental care. On behalf of the University, the invited guests were welcomed by the Rector, dr inż. Mariusz Kołosowski.
We had the pleasure of welcoming experts from 24 countries, including Mexico, India, Armenia, the Dominican Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, Ukraine, Egypt, Albania, Uzbekistan, Montenegro, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Japan, Thailand, Bulgaria, the United States, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Romania, France, and Poland.
The speakers shared their knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the fields of sustainable development, digital transformation, and ethical challenges in higher education.
The programme included:
- Thematic sessions and workshops led by international experts, such as:
- "UAS in Nysa opening presentation"
- "Personal sustainability, self-care and inner balance of the sustainable universities staff" - Anna Opałka (UAS in Nysa, Poland)
- “Sustainable University: Opportunities, Challenges, and the Future” – Prof. Isaac Azuz Adeath (CETYS Universidad, Mexico),
- “The Concept and Goals of Sustainable Development” – Astghik Grigoryan (Armenia),
- “Integrating Sustainable Practices into Innovation and Education” – Gabriela Guzmán Olguín (CETYS Universidad, Mexico),
- “AI in Sustainable Higher Education” – Juhi Bansal (Ahmedabad University, India),
- "INTEC Experience: Sustainable Campus 2015” – Rosaura Pimentel and Pamela Michel (Dominican Republic),
- “The Role of Technology in the Social Responsibility of the University” – Alaa Tag Eldin Mohamed (Egypt),
- Best practice presentations on sustainable development in higher education,
- Table Talks – moderated small-group discussions followed by conclusion presentations,
- Meetings at the International Cooperation Office with the Erasmus+ Programme Coordinator to discuss potential future collaborations,
- Open lectures for students of all UAS in Nysa faculties according to a separate schedule,
- Presentations of partner universities,
- An official welcome dinner attended by the University authorities,
- A guided tour of the University’s teaching facilities and the city of Nysa, combined with an integration event at Fortress II.

The next edition of the UAS in Nysa International Staff Training Week will take place in 2026.
