Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre in Nysa was created in purpose of promoting and disseminating Indian culture in our town, region and country. By our various activities we want to familiarize Nysa’s inhabitants with Indian culture and traditions, with hope of awakening in them more interest towards this beautiful country. For all interested our Desk offers following cultural activities:

1. WORKSHOPS ABOUT INDIAN CULTURE FOR SCHOOLS, INDIVIDUALS & GROUPS
Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre in Nysa conducts workshops and presentations about Indian culture in local primary, middle and secondary schools in Polish and English language. During these workshops students have an occasion to learn some basic information about India and Hindi language, see and wear traditional Indian clothes and jewerelly, have their names written in Hindi or learn Hindi songs. Younger children participate also in artistic classes. We organize workshops for other groups & individuals as well.

2. HINDI LANGUAGE & DEVANAGARI SCRIPT WORKSHOPS
During the classes participants will gain basic knowledge of Hindi – main language of the Northern-West India. Basic words, phrases and grammatical constructions as well as writing and reading in Devanagari - script of Hindi - are taught on the classes.

3. INDIAN CULTURE DAYS IN NYSA
In 2014 Polish Desk of the EuroIndia Centre organized the EuroIndia Days in Nysa. The event was graced by the presence of many eminent guests, representing prominent institutions of Indian-Polish cooperation. During the event Nysa’s inhabitants had a chance to get closer to Indian culture. This year our Desk, in cooperation with Indo-European Education Foundation and Nysa Municipality, will organize Indian Culture Days in Nysa on 6-7 November 2015.

4. CULTURAL EVENTS & CONFERENCES
This year the Desk organized its first international conference, “Women of the World”, touching upon the problem of women’s situation in various countries and cultures, especially in Indian culture. The event was organized on the occasion of the International Women's Day. Conference was conducted in the English language. We wish to repeat the success of the event as we are planning to organize more events of this kind, concerning various, interesting and sometimes controversial topics from Indian as well as other cultures in the future.

5. SUMMER SCHOOL OF HINDI & INDIAN CULTURE
Classes and workshops of Hindi language and Indian culture from Monday till Friday with extra activities are parts of our Summer School of Hindi & Indian Culture. The first edition of the event is planned to be organized in the near future.
