Explore cultures, learn, gain skills, and earn a certificate! Adventure with Intercultural Workshops "#INTERLAB+" for PANS students in Nysa

The world is filled with diversity, mobility, and change. Factors such as travel, studying and internships abroad, working in international corporations, and various opportunities to participate in multinational projects contribute to the growing importance of intercultural competencies.

Therefore, on April 10, 2024, the International Cooperation Office of PANS in Nysa, in collaboration with the International Training Team "#INTERLAB+" of the Erasmus+ TCA Program, organized workshops to develop intercultural competencies for students. The workshops were conducted by Dr. Joanna Domagała, an intercultural trainer from the Foundation for Education Development.

The workshops covered topics such as:
1.    Introduction to intercultural communication.
2.    Cultural differences in communication.
3.    Stereotypes and their impact on communication.
4.    Verbal and non-verbal communication in an intercultural environment.

A total of 25 Polish and international students studying at UAS in Nysa participated in the organised event. All participants were very satisfied with both the content and the format of the workshops. The trainer professionally transported the participants to an interesting world of other cultures and provided valuable insights related to understanding them. As part of the workshops, participants also learned how to manage diversity to build lasting relationships, understand different cultural contexts, resolve conflicts, and appreciate cultural differences and perspectives.

“I learned how different cultures affect the lives of foreigners living abroad. Although some aspects of cultures are common in almost every country, they can be misunderstood. Therefore, we should be tolerant towards foreigners and try to understand them.” Rifki Kesepara, a student from Sakarya University in Turkey

“These were really interesting and interactive sessions. The knowledge I gained will help me broaden my worldview from various cultural perspectives” Udit Bhakta Pradhan, a student from Shibaura Institute of Technology in Japan.

“I am truly happy for the wonderful opportunity to participate in intercultural workshops. I learned many new things about other cultures, beliefs, religions, etc. I cherish every step at UAS in Nysa and thank you for every fun moment,” Sona Alexanyan, a student from the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.

Understanding and appreciating the richness of cultures contributes to making this world a better place. Congratulations to our students for their enthusiasm and participation in the workshops. We hope you will continue to develop your intercultural competencies.
